What is Trauma-Informed
Registered Massage Therapy?
At our Solidarity Therapy, we understand that every person arrives with their own history, experiences, and comfort levels. Our trauma-informed Registered Massage Therapist (RMT) provide care that is grounded in safety, choice, and respect. Whether you have experienced trauma, live with anxiety, or simply prefer a gentler, more collaborative approach, Cheryl is here to support you.
What does Trauma-Informed RMT mean?
A trauma-informed massage therapist does not treat trauma directly. Instead, they recognize how trauma and stress can show up in the body and create an environment where you can feel safe, in control, and fully supported during your session.
This approach is beneficial for anyone—but especially for individuals who may experience:
-
Anxiety or hypervigilance
-
Sensitivity to touch
-
Discomfort in clinical or medical settings
-
A history of trauma or overwhelming experiences
-
Chronic pain linked to long-term stress

I am a Registered Massage Therapist (RMT), endorsed by the College of Complementary Health Professionals of BC.
I believe in treating the whole person. Our physical, emotional, mental and spiritual health are closely interconnected. Massage therapy promotes overall health and wellbeing whether one is dealing with an acute injury, chronic pain management or coming in for relaxation and stress reduction.
Having my clients feel safe, heard and respected is of utmost importance to me and open communication is a must in my treatment room. I provide personalized treatments tailored to my client’s specific needs and circumstances.
