MEET Cheryl (She/Her)
Pleased to meet you!
I am a Registered Massage Therapist (RMT), endorsed by the College of Complementary Health Professionals of BC (previously with CMTBC).
Years ago, someone very dear to me suggested that I look into massage therapy as a career choice. Once I attended the weekend introductory course at The West Coast College of Massage Therapy, I knew I found my calling. I signed up for the program and never looked back. I have been blessed to offer client focused massage therapy in a friendly professional environment since 1998.
I believe in treating the whole person. Our physical, emotional, mental and spiritual health are closely interconnected. Massage therapy promotes overall health and wellbeing whether one is dealing with an acute injury, chronic pain management or coming in for relaxation and stress reduction. Having my clients feel safe, heard and respected is of utmost importance to me and open communication is a must in my treatment room. I provide personalized treatments tailored to my client’s specific needs and circumstances.
Over the years I have taken courses in pregnancy and baby massage, scoliosis, osteoarthritis, remedial exercises and most recently I did a chronic pain management webinar and a course on Understanding Trauma in the Massage Therapy Context. I truly believe that movement is everything. We need to keep as active as we can. For some people that is running 10km, for others that might consist of getting up and walking around their house.
I grew up in Port Coquitlam, graduated from Terry Fox Sr Secondary then completed my massage Therapy Diploma at WCCMT in 1997. I have always been active and have had a love for nature and animals, both soothe my soul. I fostered cats and kittens for years with Cat Therapy Rescue Society. I grew up with cats and dogs. I have three favorite girls in my life. My two daughters are my pride and joy and Maggie, my 7 year old Rottweiler, is my best friend.
I am very excited and honoured to be joining Solidarity Therapy.
