Why Men’s Mental Health Matters

Let’s be honest: most guys aren’t taught what to do with stress, emotions, or the harder stuff that life throws at them. So instead of talking about it, men tend to shut down, get irritable or angry, zone out / numb out, throw themselves into work, feel disconnected, carry everything alone. None of this means you're “broken.” It just means no one ever taught you how to deal with what’s going on under the hood. That’s where trauma-informed therapy comes in.

How Trauma-Informed Counselling Helps

Therapy doesn’t turn you into someone you’re not.
It helps you become more you, with less stress, less confusion, and better control over your reactions.

Working with Orrett can help you:

  • Understand what you’re actually feeling (without the “therapy speak”)

  • Manage stress, anxiety, burnout, or frustration

  • Deal with big emotions without blowing up or shutting down

  • Improve communication in relationships

  • Break old patterns that keep messing things up

  • Build confidence, clarity, and a stronger sense of self

When trauma-informed care is also included, this will feel like:

  • Safety and comfort

  • No shame, no judgment

  • Going at your pace

  • Understanding how stress affects your body and emotions

  • Building tools to stay grounded instead of overwhelmed

In other words: we meet you where you’re at, and you don’t need to share anything until you’re ready.
