What Is Conscious Connected Breathwork?

On average, we take over 25,000 breaths per day, completely unconsciously.
Breathing is automatic, yet it holds incredible power when practiced with intention.
Conscious Connected Breathwork (CCB) is a breathwork practice where the breath
flows continuously, usually through the mouth, without pauses at the top or bottom of
the breath. There is no sharp inhale or forced exhale. The practice begins slowly and
gently, allowing the body and nervous system to feel safe and supported. Sessions are
typically guided by a carefully curated musical playlist that helps lead you through the
journey.
Like many breathwork modalities, CCB has the potential to:
Release stored emotions
Increase body awareness
Activate the parasympathetic nervous system to promote calm
Enhance energy, clarity, and emotional processing
Support access to altered or expanded states of consciousness
Each experience is unique, and clients receive exactly what they need in the moment.
What Happens During a CCB Session?
During a Conscious Connected Breathwork session, clients lie comfortably on a mat on
the floor. Bolsters, pillows, and blankets are provided and encouraged to support your
comfort and relaxation.
A typical 90-minute session includes:
Welcome, introduction, and intention setting (5-15 minutes)
Grounding and gentle breathing (10-20 minutes)
Active Conscious Connected Breathing (30-45 minutes)
Integration and rest (15-25 minutes)
Closing, reflection, and debrief (5-10 minutes)
Music plays an integral role throughout the session, guiding each phase of the journey.
At times, the facilitator may also incorporate live instruments to deepen relaxation and
integration.
Is Conscious Connected Breathwork Right for You?
It is always recommended that you consult with your medical team to ensure that
Conscious Connected Breathwork is appropriate for you. Generally speaking, CCB is
considered a safe and supportive modality and can be a powerful complement to
counselling and/or therapy.
What Sets My Breathwork Sessions Apart?
I am a Reiki Master, Certified Aromatherapist, and Sound Bath Facilitator, and I
intentionally weave these modalities into my breathwork sessions to create a deeply
nourishing, multi-sensory experience.
My breathwork training also included stretch therapy components, which are gently
incorporated to invite openness in the body and energetic centres, allowing the breath
to move more freely and deeply.
I have personally completed many breathwork journeys and experienced profound
emotional releases and healing through this practice. These experiences are what
ultimately led me to become a breathwork facilitator, so I can hold safe, compassionate
space for others on their own healing journeys.
