MEET Annalisa (She/Her)

  • Blog

Hello, I’m really glad you’re here!

I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) who believes that healing unfolds in the presence of safety, curiosity, and genuine human connection. My work is grounded in an anti-oppressive, trauma-informed framework and in the understanding that our emotions, relationships, and nervous systems are deeply intertwined. My therapeutic style is warm, grounded, and direct, offering both compassion and honest reflection.

Outside of the therapy room, I am an avid lover of musical theatre, Tolkien’s universe, and stories that explore the complexity of human behaviour ie.,  I watch a lot of crime and cult documentaries and anime. I enjoy singing, playing piano (enthusiastically and imperfectly), and laughter as an essential part of connection.

I integrate Internal Family Systems (IFS), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), and somatic, embodiment-based approaches in my work. Therapy with me often involves gently tuning into the body, exploring emotional and relational patterns, and building a compassionate relationship with different parts of the self. My approach is paced, collaborative, and consent-based, with careful attention to nervous system regulation and the creation of emotional safety.

I have a special interest in supporting individuals navigating infertility and perinatal mental health, grief and loss, religious trauma, and faith deconstruction and reconstruction. I also enjoy working with parents seeking support, and with individuals who are carrying the weight of shame, spiritual harm, or attachment wounds that have shaped how they relate to themselves and others.

Creating space for the full human experience is one of the greatest privileges we can offer one another. For this reason, I am deeply committed to cultivating a safe, non-judgmental therapeutic environment where connection, resilience, and healing can flourish. I view the therapeutic relationship itself as a place where safety is restored, new possibilities can be imagined, and change can take root. Therapy is most transformative, in my view, when clients feel free enough to risk experimenting with new ways of being, to be met with care rather than judgment, and to allow their authentic selves to emerge.

I reside and work on the traditional, unceded, ancestral territory of the Stó:lō people. I acknowledge the faithful stewardship of the Kwantlen First Nation and Katzie First Nation, who have extended care to this territory since time immemorial. This awareness informs my commitment to humility, respect, and ongoing learning in both my personal life and clinical practice.
