Hello,

My name is Amneet (she/her), and I’m a counselling intern completing my Master of Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University. With work, volunteer, and educational experience, my goal is to provide a non-judgmental and empathetic environment where individuals feel valued and supported on their therapeutic journey.

Outside of sessions, you can find me out on the field playing soccer, spending time with pups, trying out new cafes, and reading from my never-ending list of novels.

I approach my work through a culturally responsive, anti-oppressive, and trauma-informed approach, as my goal is to create a safe and empathetic space for individuals to experience healing, support, and personal growth.

I value every individual’s personal narrative, as our lived experiences carry deep meaning and offer valuable understanding into our emotional worlds. I lead through an intersectional lens, that is guided by compassion and curiosity.

As a second-generation immigrant, I understand how culture, values, and intergenerational experiences can impact an individual’s emotional well-being. Consequently, I continuously work towards offering a culturally inclusive space where individuals feel seen, heard, understood, and supported in exploring their experiences and challenges.

With the help of my academic training, I aim to integrate counselling techniques and approach that are best fit for you and your needs, while providing an ethical practice and trauma-informed care.

Through a supportive and collaborative therapeutic stance, I hope to provide a space for individual’s that allows them to explore their experiences and further heal and grow. No matter where you are in journey, I am here to support you.
